Group to Address Increasing Market Demand For Information Technology And Financial Reporting Controls Services

Sensiba San Filippo LLP (SSF), a leading Northern California-based CPA and business consulting firm, has expanded its service offerings with the launch of a Business Process Assurance Group (BPAG), led by Jeff Stark, Audit Partner. ? The practice will help clients to establish processes and implement controls both voluntary and based on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

Over the last few years business owners have faced a tremendous challenge in successfully preparing financial statements with increasing complexity in accounting reporting as well as increasing regulatory oversight.

?We have brought together a talented team of professionals to help our clients address the interdependent and complex risks related to internal controls over financial reporting and information technology. The group will serve in guiding our clients to effectively address business risks, improve business processes, and generate real value for the company,? said Jeff Stark, SSF Audit Partner.

This new group will provide business process services including:

• Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (IFRC) services for companies interested in improving their control structure or who are required to do so based on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

• Information Technology General Control (ITGC) services to cover the standard for financial statement audits, as well as to assist clients with improving controls over this evolving risk area.

• Service Organization Control (SOC) reporting solutions. The AICPA has recently revised the standards (previously known as SAS70) to differentiate between controls that are related to financial reporting (known as the SOC-1/SSAE-16 report), and those that relate to trust principles of Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy (known as a SOC-2/SOC-3 reports).
