Wine Review: This dark ruby colored wine from the Douro region of Portugal is a good value red. It opens with fragrant black cherry bouquet with a hint of raisin and blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is an extracted black raspberry with notes of red currant. I also detected hints of black licorice, oak and a touch of raisin. The finish is dry and its medium tannins are nicely prolonged. I would pair this wine with slow cooked beef brisket. Enjoy ? Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep ruby with purple edges. Aroma: Spicy red berry fruits. Palate: Elegant palate with youthful fruit, fine tannins and balancing acidity. Dishes: Remarkable by its unmistakable aroma, accompanies since "Alheira" toasted in the oven, until "Rojoes" with chestnuts, passing by the traditional Rice in the oven, balancing all flavors.
Organic status: not organic
