The University of Richmond completed more than $14 million in renovations this summer.
The changes include $2.5 million in library improvements, a new student activities complex and a caf? at UR Downtown.
In response to the growing use of portable computers and mobile devices, many power outlets and more table surface space have been added in UR?s Boatwright Memorial Library.
Also added were seven group and eight individual study rooms. All collaborative study areas were moved to the library?s second floor, leaving the first floor for quiet study.
The $5 million student activities complex includes a student center and eight cottages designated for sorority use.
Three blocks of University Forest Apartments have been updated with new roofing, flooring, additional half baths, and new bedroom furniture and kitchen appliances.
Artificial turf and upgraded lighting are being installed on intramural fields to accommodate heavy use and extend playing hours.
In addition, football offices and meeting rooms have been renovated in the Robins Center.
Two of the oldest buildings on campus, Ryland Hall and North Court, underwent interim improvements while their complete renovation is planned.
